Stacey marie brown savage lands6/24/2023 ![]() ![]() There were just so many inconsistencies in her character and the way she acted in general that made me not like her very much. She says she’s tough but cries & cowers left & right - I wanted her to be like Celeana Sardothian in Endovier but she just wasn’t. She’s supposedly the best fighter in her class but her actions don’t back that statement up. ![]() ![]() There were also so many contradictions in her personality. Then we have a main character who “isn’t like other girls” & let’s you know it every chance she gets and I hate that type of vibe. I feel like there’s so much potential to build up the magic & species elements in this story & we only got a surface level amount of info which was very underwhelming. Then the majority of the book takes place in a prison that’s filled with all sorts of creatures and that made for a very original setting IMO - so I liked the idea of it a lot… but I don’t think it was executed very well in the sense of the writing and world building. ![]() Your in this world where the fae & humans are fighting for dominance & the hierarchy of everyone is all messed up.
